Title: Resting outside @ Mistlocke
Post by: FanaticusIncendi on June 17, 2011, 03:29:34 PM
Maybe this is intentional and/or maybe I missed a spot but so far it's looking like the only place you can rest outside near Mistlocke is in the Forlorn Forest...would it be possible to make some parts of Mistlocke restable outside? Maybe across the bridge where the little camp area is?

If an area is marked rest-able you can camp anywhere inside it. SO they could sleep int he square if this was activated.

There have been several areas where you can't rest in any part of it except for a 'camp' area.  The camp site by the Waterfall comes immediately to mind.

I think this could be useful to add someplace in the area.  Maybe even with someone taking coin, so it's not necessarily cheaper than resting in the Inn and thus making Inn resting a completely superfluous option.

Why not just allow people to set up camps in the forrests?

I think if we set up free resting there, people would just run there instead of using the inns. Which would be silly.

So, I like it how it is.

Free resting areas exist near mistlocke and are safely accessible if you want to make the slightly annoying treck to save out on the 10 gold if you are really that much of a miser.

Buying oil and carrying a bedroll tends to solve the problem.

Oh, it's not about that, it's about being a nature PC who's not a druid or other that can just plop down and rest anywhere without a fire.

Like I said, you can set up a campfire and rest in the forlorn forest, I was just wondering if it was possible to have a spot both outside and a bit more convenient so you doesn't end up getting left behind while you run off to an area where you can rest as everyone goes off in another direction to quest. I can see Howland's point though and it's fine.

Set a camp yourself...

You cannot start a fire in that small tented area right now, it's reads that "you cannot start a fire here". But this is fine, there are other options available to people. (I'm offering one too) And camping in sight of the city is kinda odd anyway. The Forlorn forest didn't used to allow resting; that was more difficult. <3 Howland.

Though I really felt the desert was more intimidating when you couldn't start a fire anywhere within it. :(

Many of the desert area don't allow for a camp fire, alas. Could it be possible not having to walk back to Sis Liman every time we want to rest in the desert?

There are hideouts where you can rest in the desert

There is an area in the Fox's Dell with a tent, bedroll, and campfire. I was surprised that I could not rest there. It's far enough out of the way that it probably wouldn't steal much business from the tavern.
