Title: Item: Litter / Stretcher
Post by: meow-mix on June 28, 2011, 08:27:02 PM
A container into which can only be placed blackout/dead PC containers and/or their belongings.  It would reduce the weight of its contents by 75% ot something.  It may leave special tracks that non-rangers can detect if their spot or search is high enough.

It would allow PC's with less than 20 strength to abduct people, or to move PC's slain in quests/events to safer locations easier.

what

Why would a corpse suddenly not weigh as much as a corpse if you had one of these items?

Because they're easier to move with a litter. Mass isn't everything.

Dislike this strongly. It shouldn't be even easier to abduct people.

While I see what you're saying, I think this is a very bad idea. The strength should be a huge factor in the abduction plan. Hire muscle.

What other use would we have barbarians for?

Dump your spare gear somewhere safe. Use Strength and rage potions. Or stuff the body in a magic bag XD.

I had a character that hauled a corpse around his entire career back in EFU in a magic bag.

Man up pussies.

it has been stated by DM's in the past not to place corpses in magic bags.

Though I suppose if it's a true "bag of holding" it's not so bad.

I like the idea of this as a way to make it easier to RESCUE someone instead of ABDUCTING someone.

Maybe make it impossible to attack or an automatic movement reduction, something like that when the litter/stretcher is used?

How is rescueing someone different from abducting them? Mechanically I mean.

a litter is designed to use by TWO people for a start. thats how it works, you spread the weight out over a flat surface and use two people to carry it...

As far as abducting people, theres this neat little spell called freedom of movement, or just lots of strength buffs and storing gear.

Its not meant to be easy to grab people yo!

A very good point.

Not that I support the suggestion, but; You can pull a litter along the ground, too. It's a bit bumpy, but it sure makes it easier than carrying someone. Of course, this isn't a viable option when someone is super-injured, but then you likely shouldn't move that person anyway.
