So, I'm playing a conjuration based druid right now, so yes, I am rather biased. However, I feel it would be very nice if druids, who in D&D are excellent summoners (gaining spontaneous casting for summons, similar to how clerics can cast cure/inflict), were either given slightly more powerful themes to start off with, or were given an extra 2 rounds/level to summon duration supposing they have SF or GSF conjuration, similar to how a wizard would have a longer duration with Conjuration specialization. This would also go a long way to balance out how few spell slots druids get.
Thoughts?
Steward theme is pretty boss I hear.
Natural themes, like plant, or animal as in animal domain. I agree. Turn nature against it's atackers
Plant is pretty good. Lvl 4 summons an assasin vine with tremorsense and a dc18 fort vs paralysis atk that does acid dmg.
Druids do have the bonus of getting magic/greater magic fang which will affect both their animal companion and their summons.
Druids who app and get into a special faction for nature characters may be able to get a nice theme.. but for the rest of them, they are stuck with not only less summons, but a lower variety of summons. Yes, they can cast magic fang, which is their main advantage. However, they cannot use summoning foci to change their theme using reagents (it's arcane only) and unlike clerics, they have no domains with which to get a particular theme they would like, unless they take a perk, or they app specifically for it. Less summons, less variety, less duration.. there is the magic fang though, which is good. Though preparing magic fang spells means even less summons.
Giving focused conjuror druids a little boost to their summons wouldn't be overpowering.
So, give druids access to Plant, Steward and Elemental themes in the OOC theme changer?
I think some themes are better left to be achieved in game. There are ways, items and what not to get them. I am sure you can find a way to get something if you make clear you're working for it and gain some name for yourself.
I already have found it dull how people are able to easily get as many themes as they do, some being rather exotic and peculiar for a starting mage.
These can all be earned IG. We already get some pretty hefty benefits as wilderness characters as is, and don't forget magic fang!
Not super interested in Yet Another Buff My PC suggestions post, but are you sure summoning theme focuses can't be used by druids? We should fix that if so.
There are summoning foci out there, but none that can be purchased.
Even the stargazer focus? I haven't tried to use it, so I am not sure.

Usable by sorcerer, wizard, bard only. Druids, rangers and clerics can't use it.
The summoning focuses by default are unrestricted. Just the matter of finding a store that's got it.
My cleric can use it fine.
I just know that as my last character, I went to go buy a Summoning Focus so that I could start summoning something other than brood keepers, but the one for sale from the Argenti in the marketplace was sorc/wizard/bard only.

This.
Being able to add 3 ab and 3 MAGIC damage to all of your summons attacks is pretty boss.
Seems like there are plenty of focuses around druids can use.... maybe just not in the TOWN shop.
I've been noticing some druids doing a great job of following their druidic oaths and not living in a village, and others less so. But that's off topic.

What about clerics? Giant spiders don't seem super appropriate for a cleric of Arvoreen, Illmater, Helm, etc. Being able to use conjurative focuses to switch to any of the other basic themes would be splendid!
There are focuses around with no class restrictions.

Do you mean the little stone conjurative focuses that you use to click on the focus themes themselves to set them?
There are indeed Conjurative Focuses around with no restriction. Granted you need to be a part of a certain faction to access them and thus why I never found them before.. there are also some scattered around, probably
Yes, this may be a 'buff my PC' thread.. but at the same time, you don't really notice something odd with a certain class or concept, mechanically, until you go out and build and make it. It's just my belief that druids (and clerics) who want to be something other than the melee powerhouse they normally are (and excel at being) should get a slight boost. But it's a very minor issue, if it's an issue at all.
I as a player truly don't have a clue on how conjurative focuses work.

As I mentioned one page 1. Clerics can use some or most of these just fine.

You do not need to be part of a certain faction to access them.
The only ones I've found are at the Eyrie, and to get up there you need to be a part of the Allies of the Zodiak association. But there are probably some elsewhere I just haven't found.

Turns out you can use it on some items to make your summoning theme change temporarily or permanently. But does anyone know how to go back to your old theme?
Use the summoning focus' special ability on th summoning focus itself.
