Title: Animal Empathy
Post by: petey512 on July 29, 2011, 01:44:33 AM
The animals I tame with animal empathy don't listen to me and AoP anyone that walks near them.

I really like that we don't have parties and that it prevents metagaming eachother's location, but the animal empathy stuff is a huge pain in the butt as it's kind of useless unless you are all by yourself. I mean, even if you suceed you just cripple yourself because it chases after everyone else in the party and you can't even attack it for five seconds because that's how long it takes to undominate it.

I really don't have a way to fix it- I'm not really someone who writes scripts or understands the mechanics behind this kind of thing, plus I'm really really tired and can't think about much right now, except by how annoying it is to keep a giant shark away from my silly pals.

So my suggestion is that someone suggests a way to fix it.

You need to practice using Animal empathy, it does not have the issues you profess it does.

If you AE an animal, it will turn blue to all character's that you are non-hostile too. If you AE an animal fighting someone else, and they hit the animal after you AE it, it will then become hostile to that person. You can use the Target Control companion tools to force move it away from them. You will also need to change it to hold position so it doesn't charge right back in.

After you have moved the animal away from the group, you can release it and re-dominate it (take a few seconds in between, which make cause it to bite you) to reset all characters as blue. This is only worth doing if you intend to keep the animal around for any period of time.

Hostiling and unhostiling everyone may help reset it. A quick /c hostile all and /c unhostile all

I hope one of those suggestions works because it is a royal pain in the ass to go anywhere with a druid or ranger and everytime you fight orcs, their dominated pal bites you in the ass.
