Title: Reptilian Domain
Post by: prestonhunt on December 06, 2008, 12:28:02 AM
Really needs it's own summoning theme.  It's basically a summoning domain (it gets magic fang and greater magic fang as domain spells, which are only useful to you if you summon things or are multiclassed).

The standard theme only has a single reptile in the first three levels of summons - I.

I'm thinking various sorts of snakes, stone lizards, and great lizards would fit well.

While you're at it.  Seeing as we've updated the summoning system, why not make it so that Magic Fang and Greater Magic Fang, when cast, add their effect to everything you currently have summoned?  Considering the length these summons last, it wouldnt be overpowered really.

Further to this:

It appears that snakes cant be turned.  Rather poor use of reptilian domain.

Snakes are immune to mind effects, and cant be charmed, held, or AE'd.  Last I checked, they were animals.

Snakes are immune to sneaks.  Weird.

In order for a creature to be recognized as a reptile for domain purposes it needs a variable set, something like bIsReptile (a DM can check the Stone Lizard for the actual name).

"Can't be AE'd" is probably a result of "Immune to Mind-affecting." The "Immune to Sneak Attack" is probably because snakes have additional heightened senses other than sight; I wouldn't be surprised if they had True Seeing, too.

That isn't all that bad, considering that the leopard about to jump you will just 'WTF!!!111!11 *BOOM!*' Pwnt you with a critical sneak power attack of doom.

I don't get it, Mechsword.

Snakes don't have true seeing, though, you can sneak past them easily.
