Title: Headset bug, please help
Post by: Vandringsmann on February 23, 2012, 05:06:09 PM
When I prepared my human character in the Start/OOC-area, I selected headset 5 by typing /c setheadset5. Later on, after having arrived in the ziggurat, I decided to put his hood on by typing /c togglehood. However, this caused the headset to change to headset 1. I then typed /c togglehood again, and the hood did appear, but whenever the hood is removed my character goes back to headset 1. In other words, his "true headset" (5) is lost.

I contacted a DM IG, who set my headset back to the original (5). I then tried /c togglehood again, and the headset reverted to 1 once again.

I'd really like to use headset 5 and still be able to use the hood. I haven't had any problem with /c togglehood on other characters, even while using headset 5.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My GameSpy ID and character name are both "Nikolai Henselt".

I've experienced this problem myself and believe it may be because using the setheadset command doesn't actually alter the base head model for your character.

Using the toggle hood overrides the setheadset change, and then when toggled off the result is that your head model reverts to normal.

So uh.. I think you simply have to avoid using the hood if you want to use a head model that is only available through the command.

Thanks for the feedback, but I've actively used /c togglehood on a few other characters without it affecting their original headset. One of them even used headset 5.

Very strange, and it certainly proves me wrong then!

I'd also like to add that I can create a new character with headset 5 right now and successfully change back and forth between headtset 5 and the hood, using /c togglehood, without any problems. So, there's something bizarre going on with my character Nikolai Henselt only, it seems.
