Title: Alchemy & Herbalism..

A thread elsewhere in the forum states the following:

EFUSS Herbalism + (Lore/2) + (Heal/2) + Druid levels + Ranger levels

So I am clear you can carry out alchemy / herbalism experiments with classes who aren't druids, rangers, wizards or sorcerer but you just might not be as good as is if you did with those classes?

Correct!

And, if I'm not mistaken, one of the pure rogue perks gives you a strong bonus to Herbalism and Alchemy to help offset that if you're a devious apothecary.
