I have an item which supposedly keeps animals from attacking you, according to its description. Animals still attack me.
What is the item? How long have you had it?
It is dm loot?
I believe that would be what's called "a spoiler."
The DMs cannot help you if they do not know what the item is.
i hardly call it a spoiler since you told us already what the item does, they need as much info as possible to know and fix the problem
1.) If it is a DM item contact the DM who gave it to you. They will have a copy of the item and are the most likely person to be able to fix it.
2.) If it is not a DM item then post what it is. You are not giving enough information for a DM to solve your bug report without contacting you for more information -- why did you post it in the first place instead of just contacting DMs specifically in IRC or IG? Post all the information needed.
3.) I recall that the "animals don't attack you" perks of playing some PCs is not totally bug free. Sometimes they take a random swipe at you before disengaging or such. They're still hostile. Is the ability not working at all -- or is it possible it's just a little buggy?

Not all animals don't attack you things work the same. For druids, for example, animals might still attack you under certain conditions. Stargazers aren't attacked by felines, however if a non-stargazer spawns the cat then it will end up attacking the stargazer too. Providing step by step details of the encounter helps because by nature there are situations where the script is ignored and others when it is not.

Thank you for your concern, but a DM is aware of what the item is and I got my answer from them shortly before you posted your question. This thread can be ignored at this point.
