After you have him make it, he does not recognize it as his and will not engrave it. Kind of the reason to spend an extra 1000 on it in the first place, the engraving...

I think if you try to dye it after getting it, he won't recognize it.

Ahh..yep I dyed it. That still seems buggy. He did make it.
