Just a suggestion.. would an item for purchase, or creation be feasible?
What it would do is, say you had an item that needed charges.
What the item would do, is take 2 charges from one item, to bestow 1 charge on said item. It'd be a way of seeing even the most mundane things recycled and given value.
This would likely be all too overpowered and unwanted. Imagine trading two charges of resistance or minor healing for stoneskin.
Make it level equivalent, possibly? So 2 x level 1 charge, gives a level 1 charge, etc, etc?
I could see this being very powerfull.
Yeah. This would be way too powerful I think. I can see this being incredibly abused, especially considering how many low-level charged items there are in the game.
Turning cure light into Magic missiles, especially if its a higher CL? Could get out of whack very easily.
It would unfortunately make a balancing disaster. Even being able to trade 50 weak charges for 1 strong charge could be incredibly overpowered!
50 weak charges would be about five brass wands, and I have routinely left the starting Explore the Ruined Ziggurat (or w/e), Chamber of the Marching Dead, and Beetles with over twenty brass wands total.
That's 4 strong charges. Imagine if that was 4 charges of Stoneskin, or Fireball.
Maybe 50 charges of a level 1 spell item for... 1 charge of a level 2? I'm really bad at balancing.
Regardless, I can just imagine this being a balancing and coding nightmare.
