Title: Info help please...
Post by: RIPnogarD on January 15, 2009, 01:28:08 PM
I’m looking for this so-called “druid’s oath”. I can’t seem to find anything canon on it anywhere except what it says about druid weapons in the players handbook.

Can anybody here give me a link or book name with actual written information? I am NOT looking for personal opinion or information about the MtG card ‘Oath of Druids’ either, I want D&D information please.

These are oaths/vows…

“I Joe Schmoe, will uphold the balance of and protect nature. I also promise to only use certain weapons. ”

“On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.”

"I do solemnly swear to... .. ."

there are no set oaths for the druidic orders in any of the canon that I have read. we know from all the source materials that an oath is taken, and that in FR, a nature oriented god grants spells as well as removes druidic powers if those oaths (weapons restrictions, armor, etc) are broken. Milieki for example allows relaxed oaths and her druids may, or choose not to, wear and use all normal ranger weapons and armor.
