He did not die. I had to retire this guy. Maybe temporarily, but I'd probably need to apply if I'm ever to bring him back. For all effects, inactive. He had a lot of history and it would be lame to keep him going and coming back. I'll post some screening soon, but he's officially semi-retired, and I don't intend to log him anytime soon.
