Greets, all!
I am brand-spanking new to this server (and NWN multiplayer in general), and I have been attempting to connect to the server for the past few minutes.
I purchased my copy of NWN: Diamond Edition from GOG.com about a week ago, and only just created a multiplayer account in an attempt to connect.
Upon first logging in, I receive this message:
Could not connect to Master Server, some multiplayer services may not be available.
Upon attempting to connect to the server, I receive this message:
Server found. Attempting to log in.
Connection to server has failed.
Connection error: your CD key is already in use on that server.
My firewall is allowing the program through. Is there something I'm missing?
I apologize in advance if this issue has been addressed before (or if I am posting in the wrong forum for the subject!) -- nothing came up when I searched the forums initially, but I admit I only got about a dozen pages into bug reports before I gave up. Like a nubcakes.
As far as I last heard, GOG by default gives out a generic key which isn't unique. I think you need to request that they give you a unique one.
That and you'll need to run the critical rebuild patch because the GOG version isn't NWN it's NWN plus their own tweaks which prevents you from playing on most servers.

Can GOG give a unique key? Do you know who I should contact there/how best to contact them? And not to nag you for more answers, but where is the safest place to download the critical rebuild patch? Will it damage my computer? Agh. I bet there's a FAQ about this somewhere I'm missing. Sorry to be begging for answers.
Edit! Wait wait! I'm sorry, I'm being a grown-up woman and checking the GOG forums instead of whining to a stranger. Getting a new CD key as we speak. I'm sorry to be such a pain!
For the first question I assume their tech support or customer assisstance.
As for the second, no it won't damage your PC, it will just adjust the NWN files back to their default state. As to where to get it, try here:
