As so ends the tale of Mistlocke's resident asshole. To this date, I feel Broland has been my most successful character, as I've succeeded stirring things up a great deal with him, even if it was in a reactive manner, although that had more to do with his average charisma (10).

Quote from: BackgroundHis concept was simple. Born in the Chessentan martial city-state of Akanax, he grew up hearing of the exploits of his father, whom he sought to resemble throughout his entire life because of his intense admiration. Orphaned by war at a young age, he was enlisted into the all-male mandatory conscription and thus grew up having contact with almost exclusively men.
A few years before being spirited by the Mythallar, he had captured an enemy soldier as a slave, whom just happened to be from a extreme female supremacist society(think greek amazons), of which only women were allowed citizenry and men were kept as slaves. Needless to say, the following years were an insane emotional roller coaster of love and burning hatred that thoroughly convinced Broland that all women are crazy, inept and overall inferior to their male counterparts.
Once brought to Ymph, all he ever vied for was achieving the title of War Hero, but because of his scumbag attitude never managed to get anyone to respect him for anything more than his ability to beat their faces in with his expert swordsmanship.
Quote from: IC Goals*Incite a war between Mistlocke and any major faction
*Push towards a martial state governance for the village
*Increase the amount of authority given to members of the "military"
*Receive an official honorary title for his accomplishments in the war against the Maiden or some other enemy faction
*Become known as the village's top warrior
*Personally slay the Agony
*Die gloriously in an epic battle
Quote from: LootHe only had one piece of loot that was specific to him, awesomely titled "Buskins of Broland", which explicitly stated: "Use only if you come from Broland". Thanks Winston. That set was hilarious. =P
Quote from: His deathBroland got off to an AMAZING start, but after the first three weeks of playing him he slowly started going stale due to a series of misfortunes that shut down his opportunities to shake things up or to forward his plots.
They were IC IG happenings that killed off all the fun things to do and people to oppose (or help him). While challenging Gadyw to a death duel happened for OOC reasons, it was entirely IC for him to want to die then and there. Gynauld hated Mistlocke, and the village hated him back. He was so miserable that I actually felt bad for this fictional douche bag.
Since he had the feeling the Sword of the Savior wasn't ever going to be created, even though he had already turned over an ENORMOUS amount of reagents to said end, unfortunately key channelers for the ritual had died, and even after a few weeks of waiting, failed to generate the necessary characters, Gynauld decided that he had enough of the "ingrate townies" and it was time to join those of like-mind in the Eternal Battle of Tempus.
He was honored to die to such a capable warrior such as Gadyw, as was I to see him get killed in a public fashion to a very prominent NPCs. Thank you so much to the DM Team for letting him go out with a bang, even though it seemed entirely random.
Finally, it is time for the very few screenshots that I took throughout his time on Ymph:
A true glory hound, Gynauld spared no efforts in trying to make everyone witness his prowess and (reckless) valor.

He actually wasn't lying when he said slammed H'Bala's ass into the dirt, though I failed to capture the right section of the combat log depicting the successful (aka SUPER LUCKY) knockdown. >.>

Here's me trolling Erwin. What happened was that due to an error his Tempusian Helmet was summoning a serpent instead of the usual einherjar, and thus it was dubbed Broland's WAR SNAKE OF TEMPUS! I just couldn't resist luring Faye back into his room to show her his ferocious beast.

One of his many epic moments. While swimming in the depths of the ocean Broland got singled out, being snatched by a gargantuan sized sea monsters that he was forced to slay entirely on his own whilst naked.

And finally, a couple friends... (Yes, he actually had them) Because you're nothing without your pals, especially on a place like Ymph. A lesson Gynauld had to painfully learn.

And thus thank you everyone for an awesome ride on what I felt was my best character up till now.
[tface=salt]Keep rockin'!

I like the part where H'bala is plainly immune to knockdown and you brag about knocking her down
I enjoyed him. Fun times.

Love/Hate relationship with BRO LAND who had Zoe facepalming a lot, but he somehow remained endearing enough to want to turn a blind eye to the near-constant shenanigans. Nicely done!
It was a magnificent snake.

Loved to hate!

All heil King of Brolandia
Nice thong
Badass
Broland pretty much jump started Isengrims career as an adventurer, and stuff. He was an awesome ally, and you went out in an epic manner.
Man, nice PC. The only player my dorf has ever been almost, well, afraid of tangling with. Well played on Broland being a bullying ass. He certainly was!
He was an arrogant, boastful douchebag with no redeeming qualities beyond being good at what he did. I APPLAUD YOU, SIR! Good character. :P

Gynauld Broland [Whisper]: Thanks for being a friend.
Gynauld Broland marches off.
;)
He was one of those tragic heroes whose sheer stubbornness resists all pressures of the world... which ended up denying him access to a key ritual channeler for his empowerment.
Also won't forget how he stabbed Maki-Na the Tribeless after my first quest with him, in a loot dispute; it was a pretty stylish portrayal of greed.
Apocryphan's short notes after that:
"Gynauld Broland - physically capable yet greedy and reckless, not worth travelling with." He then informed the Convocation about him. But oddly, they eventually became fellows (might have been because we didn't actually travel together much)
Almost makes me feel bad that we wouldn't let him go to the ruins with us........ Almost.
Great PC!
Bad ass.
'Got Gadyw to near death before he chugged healing.
Lots of fun having Avery get bullied into buff-botting and brewing cheap potions for him.
Broland.. will forever rock on in the afterlife of Brotopia.... R.I.P. for the broness is strong with this one.
He killed most of Biterips allies...
