These NEED turn resistance. They have 1 HD and can be turned by a lvl 1 cleric, it's pathetic and stupid.
I have to agree. Being able to turn a Summoned Specter (level 5 summon) with such power as to instantly slay or dominate it regardless of a priest's level or charisma score is ridiculous. In my experience, animated undead are too hard to turn and summoned undead -far- too easy.
This will be adjusted in the near future.
This applies to outsiders and other summons as well!
Yay! Lots of elemental summons (and serpents) are 4 hd things, rather than 1. So are insects. Those innately are a little more resistant to turning because of being level 4, but undead just get wrecked.
All summons are set to 1HD, which makes them subject to insta-death and likeminded effects by stuff like cloudkill as well.
Not all are 1 HD. I mentioned a few themes which are 4 HD.
Random question! How do you guys figure out the HD of summoned things?
The amount of HD is generally equal to the level. You can view your summon's character sheet through examine to determine this.
The problem here is that the original reason that all these summons were set to 1 HD is so they would have minimal impact on quest spawn rates (which are adjusted for the level and the amount of participants). Apparently these side effects have taken this long to finally be noticed!
Ty Derfo.
Glad this is getting fixed. The necros have it hard enough!
A priori summoned creatures already get turn resistance, actually!
