One of the areas transitions you into an abandoned lair filled with bones (so you know which one I mean).
You can't leave the transition once you zone in- you will always rubber-band back to it. There's no way around it. If you try to click the transition to return to the area you came from, you will zone out and zone back in at once, with no chance to move in-between.
The only way not to drown is to log out and log back in, then move away from the rubber-banding transition clicky.
