Title: Bypass gamespy authorization delay
Post by: VanillaPudding on February 18, 2013, 04:21:33 AM
Just as a heads up for anyone interested -

If you want to skip over the server authorization for gamespy now that the master server is down, you can follow the steps below:

QuoteRun Notepad as an Aministrator / Navigate to and open the following follow >

Windows>System32>Drivers>etc> "Hosts"

Copy the following line to the file at the very bottom

"0.0.0.0 nwmaster.bioware.com"

Save the file and exit.

The check for authorization is now automatically failed and you no longer have to wait 5 seconds or whatever! ;)

Been using it for a while now.  Best thing ever for crashes because you can relog 3X faster.  Recommended

Is there a way to skip gathering the list of servers and quickly direct connect as well?

Yeah, we even used to have a tool/script that did that.
But bugger if I can still find it.

I think you can put something into an .ini file for that, or into the NWN shortcut. Someone else will have to tell ya.
