At the moment, unless I'm missing something the scripted benefit of Forgery seems completely useless. The tokens that spawn have no IC use, are named after your own character (so you can't pass them on), and in fact provide a negative impact on your character in that they clutter your inventory and all have a weight.
Unless I am mistaken, this turns the specialisation into the only Rogue specialisation that offers no mechanical/scripted benefit, which is a pity for a class specialisation. Of course, it presents potential RP benefits, but those always require a DM, and nothing says forgery is an exclusive right to Rogues with the feat (that would be rather limiting). I chose it for the RP flavour and so am not discontent with my choice, but it still seems like something that could be looked at, since the specialisation benefits seem largely outdated.
If nothing else can be done to script a new system for the perk to be relevant with, a bonus to bluff or persuade would be nice.
Being able to change the name on sending tokens, keys and coins like certain priests can with their holy symbols would be awesome.
Any thoughts on this, DMs?
Barring heavy scripting solutions to make the perk better;
Maybe simply adding some small mechanical advantage to the perk to make up for it's failing in that regard. Small skill bonus, something of that nature that would take far less DM scripting time to achieve.
SC says be patient. I say lock. OK.
