I make this suggestion with no knowledge of how the scripts work, but it would be great if stealth could be kept while climbing, with perhaps a large DC increase of say 10 or so. If you fall, stealth is lost.

With the reservation that OP's suggestion can be scripted in, perhaps falling and needing a hefty tumble check to retain stealth, to represent a cat-like and nimble character?
Climbing functions by using an items unique power, which breaks stealth. I do not think this is possible.
You can climb with a player tool. I think it could be done for quietly climbing without having to scratch at the wall with your claw.
