Hello there! I would like to gauge others interest in starting a strong, united group of Banites that follow the Dark Lord's doctrine through whatever means they can.
There is room for hostile take overs, or more subtle methods of taking power from others. Let me know if your interested! And more information on Bane will follow.
Requirements:
Alignment- LE, LN, NE
Classes- All classes besides barbarians, druids, and rangers. clerics would be most important
Races- Any
Goals: -Spread Lord Bane's dogma to civilized lands.
-Usurp political powers wherever you can by any means.
-Establish a shrine, or church of Bane within Sanctuary that is supported by the city.
-Dominate, or eradicate other faiths that oppose Bane's will.
-Make powerful allies through politics, and dark rituals to Bane.
-Obtain a cure of the withering by any means.
-Eventually take control of Sanctuary, and expand the Black Hands grasp outwards.
Things to know: Most of the world hates Banites since they follow a god of fear, hate, and tyranny. Which is reasonable as any zealous member of Lord Bane's church would seek to dominate others of different faiths to prove that Bane is all powerful. This creates a lot of hostile tension with mostly everyone Banites encounter, even when working with allies.
Exacting Lord Bane's will is a two sided coin. On one side you have his armies, and priests commanding forces to bring down a city, or you have the silver tongued assassin working his way up in the enemies court before slicing the rival kings throat.
-Banes' Dogma-
Serve no one but Bane. Fear him always and make others fear him even more than you do. The Black Hand always strikes down those who stand against it in the end. Defy Bane and die - or in death find loyalty to him, for he shall compel it. Submit to the word of Bane as uttered by his ranking clergy, since true power can only be gained through service to him. Spread the dark fear of Bane. It is the doom of those who do not follow him to let power slip through their hands. Those who cross the Black Hand meet their dooms earlier and more harshly than those who worship other deities.

No rangers seems odd as the ranger class is probably one of the most versatile there is. Looks good though!

Honestly though in an ubertyranny like Old Port, a PC banite with a dedicated faith could get very far without even needing to do much to disrupt the local order of things.

Maybe it is time for me to make another Banite. If nothing else, then some bookend bodyguard who does what he is told to do, or a spy and information gatherer.

As for ranger, and barbarians I just figured rangers would be more nature oriented, and barbarians wouldn't fit in a strict hierarchy easily. I suppose a NE barb could perhaps prove themselves to be orderly enough, but then they may soon get too many lawful points working with Banites they won't be barbarians anymore... I like it!
Message me if you are interested in making up a character, maybe we could correlate some story together. I have yet to make my character so we can also discuss what sort of classes would suit us at first to get things moving.

I am still interested, but I am holding off on character creation till the new setting is revealed as I have no surviving characters left to attempt flight with.
I've created a Banite priestess. Anthea Castellan is currently in Sanctuary finding her feet; she will soon be ready to provide support and aid to all who rightfully fear the power of the Black Hand and dedicate their lives to serving Him and working towards His inevitable triumph.

Since I've come back into the fold, I see no reason to stay hidden. I left Sanctuary with a Banite, and it feels pretty good to come back to Sanctuary with a Banite.
