I've got a small group of new players coming to the server soon, friends from other games I've played. They range from experienced MUDders to total novices.
I'll try to get them to stop being bashful and post in this thread. In the meantime, since I'm metaphorically caked in rust, any suggestions on how I can best introduce them to EfU?
Thought so far is to play washed up mercenary company surface survivors. Stick with simpler-to-play classes of rogues, fighters, barbarians, and rangers for the new guys. I'll go handholding cleric of Ilmater or something.
All suggestions or help is appreciated! They should be coming in this coming Sunday or shortly thereafter.
I suggest a cabal of mages of various and conflicting schools of magic all bound together by the onset of Apocalypse for the purposes of survival and the pooling of raw magical power to stand against the aberrant hordes--perhaps even to pursue high magic remedies.
Pick one of the dead gods, and you be the cleric and they your following.
You led them out of their town with this terrible event, and are working to bring stability to their lives leading across the barren wasteland then one day.. you come across a hound with a strange growth and what looks to be an abandoned building.. perhaps you could sneak in through the window and get your lost flock some food..
Too funny not to post:
19:58
: Go something more sinister
19:58 : like a helpful cleric of shar
19:58 : or a helpful cleric of shar that pretends to serve ilmater
20:20 : lol. Lesson 1: TRUST NOONE
Hi, I'm one of the new players Garem mentioned. I am a NWN1 veteran and actually played on this server for a couple weeks during chapter 2. Garem's idea about a broken mercenary company sounds good to me since it can fit in a lot of different character types/backgrounds. I don't think any of the others have a NWN1 background.
I made a Banite and now you're going Ilmater? Get them to make Bane worshipers. You can still be a guiding cleric. XD
Welcome back then BossAwesome
How about a band of Cartographers mapping the underdark areas surrounding the city. This would allow them to experience the nasty monsters to be found in the wild and also see the various quests dotted about.
Cartographers and explorers sounds like a great idea.
Bane is a good suggestion. Things are in the works.
Goblin thug life. XD
