Title: Sorc perks
Post by: KreShar on June 17, 2016, 01:48:22 AM
Make it so sorc perks are permanent and are not loss on death like how rogues perks work. Especially for mimics, it can be quite annoying and costly when you spend lots of money on spells for your sequencer and it gets erased when you die :/

Sorcerers still remain at a pretty substantial disadvantage to wizards because of their later access to spells and their general lack of versatility in comparison. I don't think this is an especially unreasonable request considering the class's state at these low levels.

I'm biased because I'm playing a sorcerer, but yes it would be nice to keep the perks once you unlock them similar to rogues.

Id personally like all perks to be retained once acquired. Its kind of a sense of progress for your character that you may have developed or elaborated on when acquired with other players, and makes things awkward when it is suddenly lost.. Its understandable though when prestige classes are involved. Acquiring an end-character perk and then releveling partially  to possess both your perk as well as new abilities might make one "OP" for that level range (releveled prestige rogues come to mind...)

I think this should be done for sorcs with their survival-ability being about the same as a rogue, it's easy to get crushed with spamming spells or unlucky crits when you have like 50 hp at level 8, you lose a considerable amount of power once you delevel. It seems silly rogues get to keep their power spike in perks, but sorcerers can't. I think this will make Sorcerers on par to other classes and help a lot.

I'm in agreement with the 'make perks permeant', then remove them as needed for PrCs, though given that you have to EARN those in game (not just get the app passed), I'd argue that allowing PrCs to be powerful is a good thing because they need to be earned and as such you'll be doing daring feats already to prove your worth to that.
