Having been in the Austrian Apls the last week, this is the taale of how I spent my time:
After the 20h bustrip down, most of the week was spent skiing, or err... flying:

We had luck with the weather two or three days:

But then, a lot of snow fell over us the other days, quite limiting any eyesight at all:

IMO, those days are best spent with a mug of hot chocolate with rum and whipped cream.
Watching our strolls through town was the Kufstein Fortress up on the hill:

We found some interesting alleys below it:

...where they served an amazing mixed grill. There's no place for more food after half of that:

Complimentary to the trip, we also had to cope with the bus breaking down on the middle of the Autobahn on our way home, delaying us some 10 or 11 hours.
All in all, a good trip. No broken bones, but a black and blue body.
Good to be back. I'll be back in business on efu within a few days!
Looks amazing. Good times.
Looks awesome!!
Fun times, Mr. Oskar and Johan.
Good stuff.
Looks good
I have some photos I took in Risoul with my mobile so please bear with the poor quality. I can never be arsed to use a proper camera and have other people do it for me. Might have some better ones later on.
I enjoy how French people pay a lot of attention to what and how they eat.

This made me tingle a little. One of the runs there was named after the most famous Polish winter vacation destination - Zakopane.

Good times.
Skiing is sooooo much fun. I'm glad to see fellow skiiers-- down with the boarders! I recommend ski blades though, they're definately worth testing out for a few days next time you go! You can do some really cool maneuvers that are just impossible with skis.
JEALOUSY
Holy crap! That looks like SO much fun! Some how I think hangovers arent so bad with the cold temp like that. :)
Take me with you next time!
I am so jealous. Looks great!
Boarding is better.
Skiing holidays:
- wake up at 10am
- ski for 8 hours
- come back for warm shower, then raclette and fondue and grills
- option a. pull out whatever rpg you've brought along and play till 6am
- option b. bring your girlfriend along (or make one on the spot) and play till 6am.
Start again.
Great weather! Great mountains. ALPS RULE!
When I was 14, this other guy and myself got lost in the alps. Had search parties out and everything. His ski binding broke and as the only person in our group who was good enough to ski anything besides a bunny slope, and having to maintain a buddy system, I decided to head back down to the lodge at the 'bottom'.
We opted to take a shortcut and cut across a certain area and it was deep into the night before we happened upon some houses.
Scary to be lost in the mountains after dark, trudging around blindly. Can't deny the beauty of the place and I'd love to go back.
