Title: SF: Necromancy on Item not allowing for Undead Summoning Points.
Post by: CluelessNoob on November 21, 2016, 12:01:34 PM
It appears that the many animate dead wands and items can be used by certain classes, however it's summon does not remain. "Breaks free of the bonds."

My character holds a ring of Necromancy which provides the wearer with SF: Necromancy.

I loaned it out to a fighter character to test if they could summon undead through the animate dead spell when they had SF: Necromancy.

This however did not work. Does animate dead work as intended, despite the many items ingame allowing non wizard/sorcerer classes to use the spell?

Animate dead (spell & item but not scroll) uses a point-based system derived from the characters caster levels, spell focuses reduce the amount they cost.

It works a little differently from conjuration, where a conjuration summoned by an item doesn't require that pool of points.  ** Correct me if I'm wrong.
