Greetings; In an effort to rectify a hole I have inadvertently burned into Howlando's pocketbook I am tentatively planning on migrating the EFU NWN server to a new host tomorrow at 7:00 AM EST (12:00 PM GMT). You will be unable to connect to EFU at this time, though the forums will stay up. I'm estimating the migration will take an hour.
I have a concern or two about the new location of the server. If you begin to have issues after the migration, please put them in this thread so that I can either troubleshoot them or take them into consideration in case another server migration is warranted. There will be a period after the server migration during which your NWN clients will continue to try to connect to the old NWN server (because the old DNS record will still exist and/or be cached). I will be bouncing your connections off the old server to make this as seamless as possible. If you have connection issues and/or lag, you might try to direct connect with the IP address of the new server, 23.254.204.130:5121.
Sanctuary bot will also be down during the migration.
Cheers,
Gracken

Since there might be some confusion, I'll mention here -
Gracken is being amazingly helpful with our server admin needs but isn't a DM. He doesn't have access to things other than helping administrate the actual server hardware itself and helping keep it happy.
Feel free to contact him with connection issues or other technical matters but in all other matters he is 100% a regular player.
The server has been migrated. Please heed the original post and post connection-related issues and technical matters that may be related below.

European timezone seems to be having some issues for all players. 16/05/2017 15:30 GMT
EDIT: Connection to direct IP rather than bounce has helped some players and not others.
FWIW, not all of us in the above screenie are europe-based. I'm one of them and I'm in EST, East Coast USA
Experiencing a lot of nasty lag since the server switch
Thanks for the feedback on lag. We're trying to troubleshoot, and also looking at alternatives.
Yup getting pretty regular small spots of lag but they are always present. Not unbearable but definitely impactful at times.
Seems like the lag is MUCH worse later in the US timezone than afternoons/evenings.
It's quite bad to be honest.
I'm near Denver and it is way worse than it was on the east coast server which is odd.
Edit: To be more detailed - I'm seeing 28% packet loss to this new host which effectively makes it unplayable sadly. When there is no loss I see a rather nice 50ms ping.
U.S. West Coast here, seeing packet loss also. Massive. But the ping is about half what it used to be.
Another server has been prepared at a different host (east coast). I'm planning to re-migrate there sometime over the next 48 hours (right now is 2017-05-17, ~10:00 AM EST, 3:00 PM GMT). I will ask a DM to make a broadcast when I am ready to do so. Thanks for your patience!

Thanks for all your work Graken!
Im sure it will end up being better for all of us.
Feed back:
Location: Middle East
Ping around 200-250 [No need to panic, I usually have higher ping then U.S 100-200 ping]
Lag spikes quit often, 2-10 sec lag.

I'm joining the chorus to say how grateful I am for the work you are doing!
I'm playing from the Netherlands and I've experienced much more frequent lag since the change.
I lag a lot, consistenly, on the server, it's not my own connection. Definitely needs a change, you should complain to the host.

Already have, they're working on it, but we're not waiting around on them to fix it.

Please post possibly related issues below.
Having ran a connection test period, it is at the least half of the old latency that I get (when we measure from europe) compared to previous migration, and it is stable without any losses so far in around 10 minute run. Seems better for sure.
Seems much better. Very few if any noticeable lag issues.
Much better here as well. I have noticed occasional lag spikes but I got those on the old server, too.
There have been two crashes since the move to the current server (about one every 24 hours or so). I'll be trying a couple things to mitigate in the next 48 hours.
Despite several attempts at mitigation, the server crashes are still happening. I'll get back to crunching on them after the weekend.
from like 1 AM to 5:44 AM CST (GMT -5) the server was crashing every 15-40 minutes regardless of the PCs online. An hour later it seemed to get worse as it dropped 6-10 minutes uptime then reset.
Thanks; Ironically this was likely caused by something I put in to try to stop the crashes. That particular addition was removed at 8:50 AM CST today (1:50 PM GMT).
Every single time I take a quest, the server goes down. 8:27 AM EST on June 2nd 2017.
Due to an oversight on my part the change that caused the constant reboots got re-applied. It's persistently gone now.
