Title: Undead Giant Lizards
Post by: Blessed Ecclesiarch on November 14, 2013, 05:20:05 AM
Frankly, these are a joke, they are weaker than their living compatriots. I am aware you can buff them, but as a base spawn, they are laughably easy to surmount and their sheer size makes navigating around them in the cramped tunnels of the underdark difficult.

Maybe a boost is in order?

I am sorry, but I wholly disagree. These things are sheer monsters, and I constantly see, indeed, after small buffing with necromancers ability to buff animated monsters, they have been nearly impossible to kill for any normal level character.

I definitely do not think even the base animation needs a buff. It's still very good, considerably beefy companion in these levels. If we buffed it, and it was corrupted further, it's AC, damage and AB would rise into amounts that's far too strong.

That's part of what makes them good.  They can be used to block in a foe.

Bring up a zombie lizard with two skeleton archers behind it...

The customized version of Animate Dead in EfU is probably the most powerful 3rd level cleric spell there is already now.

And though I haven't tried the spell with any character of my own, I've heard from sources other than Paha, too, that an animated Deep Lizard is ridiculously strong.

I can say with certainty, they are fine as they are.
