Considering we are moving towards the end of the setting (supposedly), could we see about buffing starting in efu so it isn't such a slog to get going? The gear doesn't need to be that strong, just something more enjoyable than rusted chainshirts and -1 banded mail, they are just so demotivating to wear.
I'd suggest a fair few dissipating potions, non rusted gear and min start level 4-5.
It would make making new chars far more enjoyable, and allow people to get straight into the thick of things, and let's be real here once a player has done the newbie run once (clerk, spellguard, etc) they don't need to do it again unless they have short term memory loss.
Genuine thoughts welcome, though I'd argue anyone who says "no efu is good it's all about survivability, etc, etc" needs to get past level 9 before saying that.

I do suggest instead that there is a variety of armor types, of all types to choose from. I think there is a lack of 5/2 breastplates in the starting shop.
