Merchant Guild Membership does not actually allow you to deposit more than 2000 gold in the Adamantium Vault.
Nor does membership change the dialogue with Secretary Ramus Bhesk of the Merchants Guild. Even after paying membership fee, he will give you the option to become a member again (For the same price)
