After a brief discussion in #efu-main, the consensus seemed to be that allowing Flame Weapon to work on ranged weapons (apart from throwables) would be too much. But the flavor of igniting your arrows as a mage is just too cool to ignore. What I propose is the following:
Flame Weapon:
- When used on a stack of plain arrows or bolts, applies +1 elemental damage to that stack.
Essentially, this means Flame Weapon can now temporarily grant you +1 fire damage arrows or w/e your chosen element is. Because these arrows are commonly available on the loot table, it's not a huge balance concern, but it provides people with the means to cast the spell a reliable source of elemental arrows. There is no easily accessible/reliable source of elemental arrows currently, so it fills a niche, and glowing arrow projectiles are pretty tubular, man.
Oh, and possibly have it work for bullets as well. I wasn't sure about that one since I don't know if slings have their own balance concerns, but special bullets of any sort are pretty hard to find so it would be very useful to them too.
