In this QA in Gnarsharim, the normal orc mobs were fighting the slave orcs.

This did not happen outside the QA area.

Also closing the quest gave end XP and dialogue but didn't remove it from the active quest journal

Small addendum : They were also fighting outside the QA, but not all of them were. Some seemed to play nice, and others didn't

Which ones specifically were fighting? Trappers, Slave Slingers, Slaves, Guards, Champions, Prophets?

Slave Slingers vs Guards is what it looked like if memory serves when we ran it.

Definitely guards vs either slave slingers or slaves. It was hectic, but slave <something> was being attacked by guards for sure.
