I swear this was a thing a long time ago but it seems that it either was removed or just was not, but:

Summoning of shadows / spirits / other undead related themes should benefit the same from necromancy as they would from conjuration

At some point, they did, and Necromancy reduced the point cost of these specific summons.

Is that no longer the case?

It is not the case for SHADOWS at least.
