Title: Druid Tracking
Post by: Random_White_Guy on October 08, 2020, 09:15:07 PM
By no means a high priority but would it be possible to get Druid base levels to reflect in Tracking mechanics? Or have Druid Lore be capped by Druid levels instead of Ranger Levels?

Lore is part of Tracking and Druids get that as a base skill but as it's capped by ranger levels it's effectively moot. At present you can have a high lore druid with mid-range spot and search skills and still get nothing.

QuoteThe tracker's ranger levels.
The tracker's spot and search skills.
The tracker's lore skill, capped by his ranger levels.
The distance between the tracker and his prey.
Whether the prey is the tracker's favored enemy.
Whether the tracker has special vision (low-light vision or darkvision).

It's a neat feature for the more primal feeling of Druid to be tracking and hunting but it's pretty much non-starter.

While playing Alley Dog, I had much success in tracking thanks to my formidable Search and Spot, which were both about 20.

I recommend the use of Tracking while in specific beast forms.
