Title: No auto-fail on Climbing rolls
Post by: Pandip on January 02, 2014, 06:59:37 PM
[Climbing] 28 + 1d20 = 29 vs DC 9 *failure*
36 damage My sorcerer drops below 0. Doesn't stabilize. Dies.

Point being, no other roll fails outright on a 1 and it feels silly that climbing, which has become a staple of the server, should either.

It is intentional, as there can always be a failure which is not dependant of yourself in climbing. It is why there are different means and ways to it.

And we do still have auto fail on many things should you roll a critical failure.

36 damage from one failure while climbing? I have not seen even near that much before. Are you sure? Because if so, I have an entirely different suggestion to make..

Damage itself depends of a roll and specific location. We've gotten the suggestion though, and will always review the options we feel we want in.

The damage however depends on where you were climbing at and of some luck.

For the sake of clarification, the example given was highly exaggerated.
