Isabella,
I have spoken with Khalid-- some two days ago, I believe. I found him to be a devout and upstanding individual during our conversation, but there is one aspect that stands out to me. I asked him of his political affiliations, and at the time, he claimed to offer no League his support, whether from a lack of interest or calling. A day later, I noticed him in a close conversation with Candidate Blacke on the steps of the Pyramid. Not long after that, he made a series of sendings, transcribed here:
Quote from: Khalid al-Hayim
'In the name of Warad, the most vigilant, the merciful.. this servant speaks.. on the eve of another election.. to lend his voice to the Priestess of the Lady of the Stars, Mari of the Gellemedes. He despairs, O' listeners, at how White and Purple have not put forward exceptional candidates.'
Khalid al-Hayim
'In her, one of Gold, he sees the dedication and desire of service and reform that one would think only exists in a candidate of White. In her, one of Gold, he sees the intensity and revolutionary nature of her loyalty to the Wheel.. to the traditions of the land and her reverence for the faith and Sultan.'
Khalid al-Hayim
'In her, one of Gold, he sees the ability to command. To rise to where nature and the divine allow her, to sit in judgement as Magistrate and treat fairly with all. This cannot be ignored and so this servant calls upon all to support her. She who stood against intimidate and threat of death to serve'
Personally, I doubt the power of any religious revelation that occurs in twenty-four hours to change his opinion so. Either he lied to me or he's easily manipulated. This may all come to naught if Blacke doesn't win the election, but if she does...
I'll speak with the others as time permits.
