I have not spoken to you of the great and terrible conflict of Illul, in 7787, but the memory of it still lies fast with me. It is a bitter draught that I drink each day, to remember the faces of the dead, and to see those same visages reflected upon the faces of the living.
You have promised in your works that you shall lift up the refugees that we saved that day from their present condition. To sacrifice so that we shall build them the home they had deserved in truth from the outset.
