Although our party has been met with defeat in the recent election, we remain the strongest and most organized political movement within Ephias's Well. This shall not change. We shall make every effort to support each other, strengthen each other, and prepare our next play for the next election cycle. We shall circle wagons in protection of our people and our interests. We shall build political war chests to endorse the next generation of Voices. We shall never bow our heads, to meekly go into the night; we shall only ready ourselves to strike again.
To further marshal ourselves and improve internal communication, beginning this Tesrin Hray, 7788, we shall exchange open letters within the Gold League. Each message and every reply in this folder will be available to all party members, accessed at the main desk of the League office.
You are asked to respond to this letter with a confirmation of your readiness and commitment, further, to vote in the next election. Do not hesitate to ask after anything you might need or want from the party, or what concerns might be close to your heart; we are here to support you, come whatever may.

The League has graciously selected myself, Dante Moretti, to serve as an administrative official within the League of Gold.
Those who know me should be well-aware that honor and loyalty are of the greatest importance to me. It is no less than my desire to make a modern aristocracy out of you, the voting elite, to bring you into the status, privilege, and wealth that you each deserve. I promise you, if you are faithful to this League, then I shall ensure that the League remains faithful to you.
Regretfully, while the other officials and I were going over the voting record, we found that a small number of traitors voted against the League. We have been taking the time to censure, fine, and divest these individuals as part of our post-mortem investigation. One bad actor in particular, however, was found to be especially egregious.
Zoe Tzimiska has been expelled from the League, and all Acolytes and Sisters shall be similarly prohibited from joining for the indefinite future. Going far beyond just voting against the party, the Sisterhood has been engaged in proactive operations of espionage and sabotage against us. Such blatant affronts against the Gold League, acting as brokers and agents of the White League, shall not be fearfully ignored. They are unwelcome among our ranks.
On the other side of the table, however, we were quite flattered to see extraordinary dedication to the Gold League, going so far as to defy the Grandmaster Elizabetha d'Auvergne herself...

I am proud and humbled to know so many upright and talented people dedicated to the ideals of our esteemed league. You represent the very best of Ephia's Well, the cream of the cream. You are the men and women who will lead this ship of the desert to a glorious, prosperous future.
The Voiced Citizens among you voted according to those ideals in this last election, for which I commend you. The same cannot be said of many of our political opponents, some of whom had no ideals at all but were led by mere fear or opportunism. Although our best efforts were not enough to overcome the combined paranoia of so many factions – this time –, know that we managed to achieve something greater, something lasting, something that provides a solid foundation for the future.
We built a strong and loyal support base that is independent of the Accord.
Think about it, my friends. Twenty-seven votes – twenty-seven! – with the backing of just one faction of the Accord. Just one out of five. We achieved this because you believe in Gold and Gold believes in you. And now that subversive and traitorous elements have been purged from our league, we will be that much stronger in the next election.
And of course, our work continues between elections, too. We continue to promote trade and talent, wealth and merit. We continue to oppose the machinations of seditious radicalists and religious fanatics who would see you and your loved ones robbed, exiled or murdered for their twisted sense of justice or their myopic view of piety. We will not have such a Well. We want a Well where everyone gets what they deserve, not what screaming demagogues promise them. Let us all do our part in this work!
Work. Hard work. That is perhaps what most separates you, my friends, from the rest – and what separates our league from the other leagues. You are willing to work for a better future instead of demanding that someone hand it to you on a platter. If everyone in Ephia's Well realised that, the future would already be here.

This election was driven more than anything by hate and by greed, by threats and by force. We must do right by Aeronwy and Katya, and I at least will never, ever forget that those who so proudly championed "Voices for Veterans" and for "the People" then sought to threaten their own veterans. I will never forget how conveniently calls for riots, treason and military betrayals were ignored. None of those things are good for the Well, whether Voiceless or Voiced.
The success and joy of the Voiced need never be at the expense of the Voiceless.
As time marches on and more refugees arrive, the Well will only become more multicultural, more multifaith. So I urge us, too, to be a leader in ensuring the Well is a place of peace between peoples. This benefits the trade and wealth so many of you value, for myself, it benefits the downtrodden. We need not fall into the White trap of thinking that any of these things are enemies, are mutually exclusive.

We cannot afford to lose the coming election.
Without the League of Gold to safeguard the value and privileges of a Voice, the Purples - or, Gods forbid, the League of White, would reduce all that we have worked for to rubble. Imagine, over the past few months, how many have spent what great sums of dinars or worked and bled to earn their Voices. All of their diligent efforts would be squandered and cheapened should our stewardship over the value of a Voice end. As is clear from the influx of Voiced citizens, it is plain that even 15,000 dinars is not so high a bar as to be prohibitive.
The Balladeers have been painted staunchly White, and the Janissaries are largely Purple (though I understand that they voted in droves for Ahmet this election out of, as Argent puts it, hateful xenophobia). Accordingly, whomever candidate we nominate would have little choice but to make overtures to the Astronomers and/or the Sisterhood, and strive to obtain at least the support of one or the either. In this regard, I would caution against alienating either the Astronomers or the Sisterhood, lest we irreparably damage our electoral prospects in the future.

I take personal responsibility for the loss in the last election. I put too much trust in the ability of our candidate to secure alliances that he was under equipped to strengthen. I neglected my duties as our leader, and sought in my own way to allow the League's candidate to prove his mettle by "sinking or swimming" so to speak.
When we lost the Astronomers, the writing was plain on the wall.

The Master Merchant has graciously offered a portion depending upon her liquidity in other electoral affairs, but if any hold a desire to match or exceed her charity in a showcasing of their robust wealth I welcome discussion.

Of Finance
As Scholar of Sandstone my works in numismatic hieroglyphics set a tone for further undertakings of commerce in relations to the influx of Modini reufgee, the business practices of the Ashfolk, and the Refugees of Ephia's Well. This enabled new considerations of the potion market, and more which will be highlighted in further workings of business, the next section.
As Scribe of the Sublime Garden I arrived to assist the Legates fair amidst the conclusion of the New District Deal with Gohari Heavy Industries. A privilege and pleasure it was to partake of the final meeting of authorization.
With discussion in the wake of such with the Chief Scribe it was revealed Ephia's Well on a teetering of Financial Collapse. Through my audit work with Legate Argent, Legate Balstan, and Legate Marcellus we were able to identify key measures in which we would see the fortunes turned around despite the best efforts of the Deputy Chief Scribe al-Samar and others to politicize matter.
As Nadiri of Q'tolip I was able to self-finance a preponderance of my research, allowing me to judiciously invest and reap the rewards resulting in leaps-and-bounds progress over my peers, ensuring my rise to Apothar in a fraction of the time undertaken by others.
Of War
As Scholar of Sandstone College I became teaching assistant to Professor Flint and an integral part of work with the Warmaster and our short lived dwarven allies in the pursuit of the Queen Kanzuzu, documented well in the Sandstone College for any who wish to visit the admission's office. The research involved lead to a great deal of headway made in the use of the Kan'zuzu in war time application stripped of the control of the Melek.
As Chronicler of the Divan for months I served as archivist and archaeologist digging up fragments and tales, stories, rumor, myth, and folk-heroics of the march of Iakmes. Though my collection may be found in the Krak de Rose's library, it has from the beginning served as a robust tool of showcasing the Gold League's rhetoric of Victory at Any Cost, the many machinations and workings of Legate Argent and others of our League, and the successes of Ephia's Well.
As Nadiri of Q'tolip, I partook in the Battle of Lover's Gap - Facing the forces of General Zthae'ikos, The Spear. While arguably more casualties accrued than Arslan, and it laid the groundwork for our allies of Ka'esh to join in sortie with our main forces, I was awarded medal, treasure, and prize from both the Ephian Government and Tower of Q'tolip for my distinguished works.
Of Business
Based upon my workings of Numismatic Hieroglyphs I was able to delineate the profit margins of the Boardworker Caste and with the arrival of Zina of Il Modo we were able to deftly overtake the magical artifice market on behalf of the Gold League. Producing goods and wares at price well beneath market price ensuring every vial sold remained competitive for the boardworking populace while ensuring we each found ourselves profit. Though our business shifted with my focus of Nadiri, she and many others of the League profited for much of the war on our creative accounting.
Of further business - with La Banda Rossa, from Recluta Banducci to fair Proppaea, to the Balestrieres, to the Condotteri Herself I have a great many months served both publicly and privately as an artificer to bolster their many contracts and works. Potion, Wand, Scroll, and more throughout the contests and challenges faced.
Lastly my own fortunes secured, funneled into my greater research and works on behalf of the Government and Accord, by offering services to the Wild Brothers, Veteran's Vanguard during their nascent days, and a number of waxing and waning outfits affiliated with the League of Gold.
Of Politic
As Scribe of the Sublime Garden I was given no shortage of insight into the workings of both the Leagues and the Pyramids, and on more than one occasion have been sought by many of the Voiced of Ephia's Well for their counsel on matters large and small, Prelates, Magistrate, Legate, Vizier, and more.
Since my departure from the Scribes for the Tower of Q'tolip that has not abated as many visitors to the Tower from the Gold League remains commonplace, as well as balancing the needs of the League against the many arms of the Accord.
To this end I say simply my fortunes have been better focused upon research, development, and advancement. Projects large and small, from thwarting threats to the region to now pursuing research efforts to hinder Orc'ah utilization of plague in the Scald.
Yet Of Merit, of Ambition, of Independence, you would he hard pressed to find one moreso than I.
Speak amongst yourselves, or if so desired, a League Meeting may be called and I would gladly defend my position before any in open debate.

Ours is a party of pragmatism and class consciousness.
In the upcoming election, the Gold League shall decline to run a candidate. It is our design to instead leverage our votes collectively in order to gain concessions from another party; concessions such as maintaining the high price of the Voice, and certain government titles which benefit us.
While this attitude may be called cynical, the sudden death of Balstan Gloamingdaith, and the departure of the Banda Rossa from our party, has left us disarmed of strong candidates. None among us can claim a sufficient base of core supporters to sway the Astronomers or Janissaries to see us as a better opponent to the Cinquefoil Rose than the Purple candidate. Further, the Rose itself is now fully united behind and committed to the cause of the Whites.
It is better, in my view, to organize instead in the pursuit of profit and political networking, as a powerful special interest group. Our votes, our resources, should be a decisive swing in the upcoming election.
Members are politely discouraged from running as candidate in the primary. This will be seen as disrespectful to the memory of our intended candidate, Balstan, whom we shall honor with a period of abstinent mourning.
Members are warmly invited to write in with suggestions of what is most important for us to extract from our rivals. Create separate lists for the Purples and for the Whites, conscious of their difference in temperament.

Let it be said that there is a wave of loud and endless propaganda, paranoia, and presumption - such things will always find the ear of the masses more than quiet truths. To those more clever and resource-laden than I, I suggest that it is time to speak of what the Gold does intend to bring to the table.
The real danger, in my mind, is that people begin to truly think that "the White League is taking care of all the refugees, so don't even bother helping them!" I have seen this absurd notion parroted by members of the White League, who buy into White and Purple League propaganda so profoundly.
To me, the virtues are thus:
Trade and jobs, over wars.
Hard numbers and pragmatic solutions over speeches and feelings.
Opportunity for everyone.
Industry and investment in refugees, over dependence and hopelessness.
Coexistence and a tapestry of peoples, over isolationism and xenophobia.
I have visited the Drifter's Stockade, and it is a miserable place. Squatters within sit in their own squalor, with more hopelessness than even those exposed to the Ash. They need hope, they need a hand extended to give them opportunities to pull up from their situation. There are far too many to help, I know this.
But here is an idea.
Two public works projects, if not more. Something of real, pragmatic, immediate value to Ephia's Well, which can provide jobs for refugees without simply throwing money at a monolithic problem. Naturally working conditions and wages should be fair.
Several ideas for how such funds could be spent:
1. An injection of funds into the Fourth, for the purposes of a recruitment campaign in the refugee populace. These funds could go towards expanding their numbers and allowing for more janissaries to be paid a wage. This would provide work for some refugees while benefiting Ephia's Well.
2. Repair and upgrading of the walls and defenses of Ephia's Well, provided by refugee laborers at minimum wage. This would both inevitably help our war efforts and the refugees themselves, but provide jobs and self-sustainment for refugees.
3. Needs discussion and brainstorming, but similarly a grant provided to any Accorded faction which can provide more jobs for refugees with benefit to Ephia's Well.
4. A grant to Duunthall, for engineering or creation of a forge for the benefit of Ephia's Well.
5. Etc, etc. I am sure there are many other groups that could come up with something.
Please give this idea some consideration. Are we truly the party of opportunity, if we are not the ones proactively forging those opportunities? This enthusiasm for lifting everyone up together must come from each and every one of us.

I should like to thank Legate Dante Moretti for his open-handedness, from which a candid agreement was made between the Waradim and that which we are told the faithful of the Wheel must fear.
So in that honor, I have reconsecrated the rooftop in B'aaran water, myr and incense, and granted it all the blessings of my God himself in ever the pious action, to celebrate in earnest this broaching of new and old friendship.
As you may know, we Waradim are not a wealthy faith, and the Legate has convinced me that my talent in Exchange shall be of use to our League. As such, rather than simply ask for charity in expanding the Shrine atop the roof, I would meet with you all whether together or one by one, and convince you to invest in the Open Hand.
It is my hope for it to not rival, but bear sweet and bountiful reminder of Warad's influence, and come by as a mere taste of The Welcome Reciprocity, that vast Caravanserai within the Epicrasis of Baz'eel. Having found myself departing the League of White, I intend to branch out and embrace my new found ideals in the League that once saw the rise of enterprising Ephians such as John Syter.
Our past is muddied by our former Legates, but I think it foolish to escape their legacy, for an objective mind must confess this League found great success under their suffocating thumb.
The rule must be thus, that there is always room for improvement. As in the rumors of fabled conversation, one Legate said to another, 'I wish you not to be me, but to be better than I ever was,'
And per our tenets, our shared vision, our goals, I say to that; Idealism is not the venue of the Lily but the pilot of a Golden Renaissance. Wealth has many meanings. We seek it, for all, but most importantly we define it. *We* define what is wealth. Wealth of the mind, wealth of the soul, wealth of the citizen's clause! Wealth of our pockets, wealth of our city.
And in this Commonwealth bequeathed to the greatest minds of Ephia's Well, we do not only dream it, we invoke it. With every discussion, with every action, with every victory, small or large, we invoke it in our very fiber of being. For what is the life's blood of our dear city, but the Assembly of Ephia's Well and its Voiced, whom breathe such vim and vigor into our every day.
We are the future. I know this now, and I will stand by you forever more, as I am not confused any longer, I am no longer adrift. My place is found, and it is here, in our halls. In the absence of a proper Secretary, I shall take up this mantle and guide us forward, through wit, through diplomacy and through my tenacity.
