Lieutenant
I have always tried to foster in my Scribes a proper degree of respect for the Legion, for as we are the honoured left hand of our great Sultan by which his Word becomes Law, you are his honoured right hand by which his will becomes action.
It seems, however, this consideration is not returned.
In the past months, full accountings of our internal works are demanded without proper Requisition or Procedure, Charges of treason toward me are floated 'in jest' to try and earn favour with Legates, aspersions are thrown of misconduct and theft upon scribes enacting the actively witnessed commands of the Legates, and now a Scribe apparently beaten and robbed upon the steps of the Pyramid?
All this orbits one man, who even aside from his acts against the Scribes has a deeply storied and concerning recent history.
It is out of respect for you, for the good soldiers I have worked beside, for your status as fellow servants of our Sultan, and for the friendship I shared with Rennik I make this request.
Deal with Gilbracht.
This is your final chance to do so in a manner that retains some face for the Legion.
If he is not dealt with, the Legates shall be but a brief stop on my way to raise official grievance with the agents of the Extant Adliye. And should they have further questions, such as who is whispering into the ear of Cherkes Teg, I shall be all too happy to answer as it shall be clear the Scribes and the Fourth no longer hold the traditional professional courtesy due to eachother.
With all the regard that is owed
- Deputy Chief Scribe al-Samar
Miss al-Samar,
Did you well organize your closet before delivering this ultimatum to one of the Sultan's legions?
I understand you are very cross, but I think it would be in your best interests if this hefty letter did not reach its port of call.
I took the liberty of inserting myself in the issue. We'll talk!
You know who.
