[A discreet envelope carrying a small, handwritten card. Delivered via Gold League correspondence.]
Dear Joan Syter,
My apologies for not writing sooner, the Well is ever busy, as I'm sure you understand - and a number of things have taken priority since you gifted me with a Voice.
As a new citizen of the Well, I took to heart your suggestion and struck my name upon this League's roster.
You have my utmost gratitude.
Sincerely,
Diane Coffey
A folded note inside the card.
I have since achieved the rank of Soldier within the Legion. Though a soldier I am not - a doctor and a detective, I am. Skills that ought to assist in this investigation into your father's remains.
If you've a mind to see this through, let us meet for tea. You can tell me of your father as we take a viewing of his portraiture - it would be good to see what he may have looked like before viewing the supposed remains. Much can still be gleaned from old bones.
