I think everyone agrees that the Familiar is one of the coolest things about the Ashen Mirage, but... what if it was even cooler.
I propose an additional level 8 ability for the perk. A Player tool that sets your familiar to appear as the last person you used the player tool on, instead of as yourself. The familiar can be reset to yourself by using the player tool on your own character.
The idea of having an illusion copy of someone else you can possess and speak through could be really cool, and help create more of the confusion and frustration we all love or loathe from the Ashen Mirage.
In terms of actual mechanical benefit it would be effectively as powerful or less so than creating a displacement clone of another pc, but would be 1/day only and let you pilot them around directly via the possession.
I just think it'd be neat.
This might be impossible or extremely technically challenging, because it's a familiar, even getting the normal ashen mirage familiar to work right I recall being reported as a bit of a ballache
In theory it does sound very cool, but I think it'd cause a lot of chaos pretending to be someone else, and not in a good way. I think it could just be abused too much for RP purposes.
