I would like to request a rule be instated about cursing items and putting them in the charity chest. I consider it to be borderline griefing and really really cruel over-all.
One of the first places a new player would be directed to is starags rest and how do you think they would feel if they took something they thought was kind of neat out of the chest, put it on and got afflicted by a curse. They might not know what to do about it, and feel that the world is hostile for no real reason.
I understand if your playing a Besheban cleric you would want to curse people for the sake of your personal amusement. Just throwing cursed things into charity is not cool you don't know who you are hurting.
Please stop
Actually, I thought that cursing items and leaving them around was something that could only be done with DM supervision and/or agreement? Kind of like poisoning stuff is? *scratches head*
I've always disliked this kind of action mainly because it's a PvP action (which is well and good), but it's one directed randomly and without any risk or consequence for the attacker. If you want to curse someone, for one thing know your target, have some kind of dispute with them specifically. And for another do it in such a way that takes some risk onto yourself so that you create a meaningful interaction between characters and not just a random curse on a random person that has no face, or at least reason, behind it for the victim.
That's absolutely hilarious.
But no I don't think it should be done.
Poisoning stuff and leaving them in the charity chest has gotten characters retired.
Cursing isn't quite on the same level but it's not much better and it's such a lazy form of RP to spread your god's will or whatever by dropping it into the chest and going about your day. It's not an IC gripe to shake your fist at the heavens, it just becomes an OOC hassle that I imagine is rather unsettling for a brand new player.
Please do not do this kind of thing without a DM agreeing that you are able to do so.
