Title: Possible Crash bug on orcs
Post by: Oskar Maxon on March 01, 2009, 10:28:27 AM
As we were doing orcs earlier today, 4 of us crashed at the same time. Sounds like a bug to me!

It's related to color spray, this is has happened to me at least twice.

1: don't color spray the MASSIVE piles of dudes when you whore the rock.

2: Don't whore the rock.

Color spray is not changed here and does not crash people anywhere else or on other quests. I really doubt that's it as I've used it many times on this quest, and others, without people crashing. That sounds more like an override issue on your side.

On a side note, the orc mages can cast from beyond maximum sight range. Perhaps their perception range can be toned down.

If you use angles (Change camera angle) you can see quite a distance to cast spells.

Yes, color spray does not cause crashes on this quest. Just did the quest with a wizard who casted it a few times against lots of orcs. As for that rock, can we please have DM opinion on it? And please lead a charge the next time you do the quest, Cruzel.

Its perfectly IC to use the cliff angle to get out of range of their sorcerers. In fact, its often plainly idiotic IC not to. Maybe you should stop telling people how to play the game, Cruzel.

The cliffs are fine. There is a lot of them in the QA you can use!

I am talking about the -one rock- that nearly every group I join this quest with whores, using it to make them all pile up ridiculously so they cannot run around en masse because of ai and this rock.

I am sick of seeing "Guys this rock looks like a good place to hold them" before a single orc shows up.

I am all for going defensive, offensive, whatever. But FFS please Stop whoring this rock. Better yet; I formally suggest this rock be deleted >.>

(For what it is worth wern, Ayana DID lead a charge against this quest offensively >.>)

Well, I thought you meant the cliff. I do not remember any rocks.

If Cruzel will not tell us how to RP, then who will save us from ourselves?

THE ROCK

And AGAIN (Different time/group)

Notice the loot. There is like NONE going around, because the AI is too dumb to work around it.

(You should be ashamed of yourselves, especially you, WINSTON MARTIN)
REMOVE THIS ROCK. >.>

How did this bug report become a discussion about a rock?

Please get back on-topic. Concerns like these should be communicated to us privately, or in their own posts in an appropriate forum.

For your information, we were not at the rock when this crash occurred, and no one was casting colour spray.

In any case, the information provided hardly makes it possible for us to investigate this bug - If indeed it is one at all.

Well, I crash on EFU quite a bit and not on any other server. I also see a lot of other people crashing here. I'd wager it's some script or something but honestly, I can pick any other non-hak server and not crash ever, but here it happens and seemingly not only to me.

No overrides or anything extra either. Not that it helps to narrow it down, just tossing it out there.

I've crashed very seldom on EFU:A, but wouldn't be surprised if it's more frequent due to us newer/more complex tilesets, having a lot of placeables on some of them, and being able to support massive hordes of NPCs in ways that less brawny servers can't.
