I'd like to suggest the cap for this quest be increased to 8 over the current 7. I think the Hook Horror quest is the ideal adventure for high-level players of prominent factions/organisations to take lowbies along on as both a sort of tutorial adventure to teach newbies how to play with a group dynamic and earn some fairly decent loot along the way. It'd be a good way for lowbies to prove their worth to the level 8 faction leaders and get that sort of relationship link doing a quest tends to give between two PCs.
It's already a grossly unnecessary steamroll at 7 let alone 8. If this is a desirable addition, it will need some sort of scaling to make the quest a threat to high levels.
Perhaps the spawning of regular, or even elder hook horrors?
Elder hook horrors would, conversely, obliterate the lowbies the quest is designed for.
If the goal is to provide a quest for higher level chars to take lowbies on, it would be better to just make a new quest for that purpose with scaled down experience rewards. Otherwise it will turn into a quest for lower level chars to get power-leveled.
This quest used to be level 5 cap, then it was raised to 7. Level 7 already is high level, and if anything the quest cap is too high.
I'm not sure I would agree that it is DISGUSTING but seeing as no one on the DM team has any idea why it was raised to 7 in the first place, I'll pop it back down to 5.

This quest has reverted back to 2-7 again. Don't know how long it has been. I only just found out myself.
I thought it was 2 to 6 which gives a mid level character the chance to show low levels the ropes without being too deadly.
Deeply embarrassing for whoever is responsible. I have put it down to max level 5 again. Booo!
