That is absolutely amazingly shockingly epic.
Another class I will never have the pleasure of playing.
Kidding. I shivered just reading about it.
Sounds crazy good, have been considering a million concepts about it all day!
huh? Bloodmage? We can play a bloodmage?
Oh, I see now. Awesome.
I'll shoot for that sucker with my next PC, hands down, no question.
Sucker... hehe... bad pun...
But seriously, this might actually make some people try and play sorcerors. You devious DMs you!
One wonders if the bloodmage PC will be as difficult to obtain as the blackguard (IMO, it should).
If it is, be prepared for some very serious RP and IG actions to gain access to it.
Oh I'm sure. Actually due to some IG events and one specific NPC, I was psyched about this idea before this PRC came out, very cool idea.
Speaking of sorcerors, does anyone have even the vaguest idea of how to play one? Because I completely do not...
There is no universal rule. Check out the class at this place (//%22http://www.escapefromunderdark.com/forums/showthread.php?t=268%22) to get some ideas.
I like the new PrC class and look forward to who will be the first to make an impression of it.
At first I feared this'll make too many players play sorcerers at once; but then I remembered just how terrible they are and felt at peace again.
^_^
THIS is going to be intresting . . . my question is this: If any sorcs make it, will they become the death-dealing mage whom it takes a dozen wizards of L7 or up to tackle, or will they just be more adaptive?
This class has potential, and, to really make it intresting, has no defined abilities. That is, one could be a deal-dealing ISGM/Fireball/Sint Shpere/PhK dealer, while another is beating the living crap out of Conrad de Sonnac, Governor Ortred, and Lenny in one match with fists.
I'm probably exaggerating, but I -do- approve of this, especially the random chance involved.
This is a great PRC, and gives a Sorc char a plot line and goal from the get go, and with a little effort, it is not that hard to get the ball rolling ig..now for the keeping of said ball rolling, we shall see.
well where is it ? a brief pleas.
http://www.escapefromunderdark.com/forums/showthread.php?p=113806#post113806 it's right here man. i'm a nice guy so i direct people to these sort of things.
in other news i honestly find an article about dolphins killing themselves or whatever like bi-annually, and continuing my conquest of good deeds, i would like to share my most recent discovery of such in this post aswell. honestly. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7918144.stm
So, just about a week or so after the announcement, am I mistaken that I have seen 3 of these walking around? At least they are pretending to be and roleplaying it whether they have the powers or not.
No one's applied yet!
Calavera, you probably see normal sorcerers that are RP'ng as they imagine and would like their Bloodmage to be. I doubt anyone is pretending to be one and by what was said, it will be a task to get this so it might be a bit before one gets it. Additionally, I am pretty sure you will not have to even raise the question if someone obtains it.
Not that you know anything about it IC'ly anyway, but you may note in the ooc description that the ritual turns the skin of all participants into a shade of bright red.
Should i be scared? LoL.
I was just curious, i saw a sorcerer cutting their hand and dripping blood implying a spell was being cast. I also saw someone claim to be a Blood Mage.
I guess you have to warm up to it, yes? It's not like one day all of a sudden, BAM your a bloodmage! I imagine you would be kinda doing stuff along that line until you finally got to the point where you actually have the PrC.

My character, and it's absolutely unrelated to spellcasting. It has everything to do with taking traditions and rituals a bit too far, however! It's also a concept I had shelved during EfU (no A).

She has an innovative take on casting, and though unrelated to teh bloodmage, it's very cool in it's own right...well done MA!
