Title: Slaad Summons
Post by: Random_White_Guy on May 11, 2014, 03:01:33 PM
I wasn't sure if it was a bug or a feature but I've seen everything from beams of light to Chairs that are susceptible to magic weapon, flame weapon, etc. The Slaad summons though seem to take the spell but do not put them into the effect.

Just thought I'd post this here in case it was the bug part not the feature part!

What was the bug again?

That magic weapon does not buff them, is that what you are saying, because I am not sure what you are after?

If so, just say it and don't dance around.

Apologies! I wasn't trying to dance around anything. The spell fires, they show the effect, but the spell doesn't seem to work on them. It doesn't give the "Target needs a weapon" notification that it sometimes gives when you try to cast on someone who has no gloves or weapon. It takes the spell but doesn't seem to work.

There's no notification of the target needing a weapon but it also doesn't give them magic or flame on hit.

Something about the summon takes the weapon spells but it isn't whatever causes damage.

If you remember, they got many type of attacks. Atleast some of monster types do. Are you absolutely certain that one of the attacks doesn't have +1 ab. I am prone to believe this may be the case here.

I'll double check when I can! That may be the case. I didn't see any change of AB on the character sheet and when fighting chosen for a few rounds nothing happened.

I'll test it some more and keep you posted.

You were right Paha! It was based on the differing attacks. Thanks!

Just wasn't showing up on the character sheet or changing the AB but the damage was done to the chosen with both fire and through their DR I think.

It won't show up on sheet itself, as the claws / bite and what not are like different weapons all. When the right attack strikes, it will have the magic weapon and probably shows in that particular roll I believe. Nonetheless, yes, that is the case if monster has multiple different attack types.
