Hey, I only recently started playing EFU and I've found that regardless of what graphical settings I have, whenever there are more than two or three characters
moving on screen my framerate drops from a solid 50-60 to an unplayable 5 frames a second. Naturally means that it's nearly impossible to fight/take any action. When many characters are idle (for example standing around the town square, or preparing for a quest outside a cave) my framerate is fine, it's just as soon as they/I start moving my game turns into a photo slideshow.
I've tried the following things, to no effect:
- Assigning NWN to one core rather than letting it try to use all of them.
- Restarting my computer/ensuring there's plenty of free HDD space.
- Assigning NWN's priority to High so it can use more memory.
- Testing the issue on all in game graphical settings, from minimum to maximum. (When I say minimum I mean bare minimum, all shadows off, low resolutions, etc.)
- Running it in compatibility/administrative mode. (I have to run it in compatibility mode as Windows XP/Vista, because it flat out doesn't run on Windows 8.1.)
If anyone knows how to resolve this, I'd appreciate it a lot.
EDIT: SOLUTION FOUND.

On-board graphics card?
Oops, forgot the GPU. There's an integrated typical Intel HD4000 card, but NWN is set to (and is using) the dedicated AMD Radeon HD 7600M. I've also tried switching it so that NWN actually runs on the integrated shitty Intel one, but the issue still persists.
Not really a bug we can do anything about. It's fully on your end.
Try updating your graphic card drivers, and next, try reading google for information on the graphic card. Nwn may be old, but each generation of new graphic card is not really necessarily better than old ones, when being used on old game. Especially low end cards have new, modern shaders and other stuff that they can't even properly run in games.
Second is v-sync and refresh rate of your monitor. Make sure you are at 60 refresh rate and try vsync on and off.
Change your audio settings in game to Miles Fast 2D Positional Audio.
I had this problem in the notorious thread FRIKENGLITCHEN, I resolved it somehow, I just can't remember. I don't have the heart to link it my humiliation of ages past, but I am sure someone here will be happy to. I think I detailed how I fixed it, somehow.
Always a pleasure, Thomas! :D

This worked. My frames are perfect now, I dunno why my audio settings was changed in the first place, but oh well.
