The brewer's elixir says you can brew a potion of shield for 80 gold pieces. If you cast shield on a potion bottle however, it won't brew one. Could the brewer's elixir be fixed so future potion brewers don't embarrass themselves? =P
Also, the crafter's sceptor says shield can be crafted into a wand. I don't have the money to test this so perhaps a DM could double check this as well?
You can craft shield wands.
Shield cannot be made by PC's into potions.
For obvious reasons. Should be almost as clear as the lack of True Strike potions.
I think the OPs point is not that you should be able to create them into potions, but rather that, since you can't, the Brewer's Elixir should be fixed to tell you that you can't instead of saying you can for X gold.
It's just an oversight with how the brewer's elixer works. Somebody will need to make an exception for it for the few potions you can't brew.
