Title: Music
Post by: Secutor on March 25, 2009, 10:09:17 PM
Now that I've building for EfU, I'm wondering how many of you play with NWN music on. I try to keep it in mind, but since I play with it off, it tends to be something I forget or spend very little time considering. I love the music, but I don't think half of it fits anything other than the OC or the PM that the new tracks are for. Anyway, just curious. If an overwhelming number of you DO play with the music, I'll put much more consideration into it when in the toolset!

I can't help but like that desert flute tune and the chanting from temples (There are many different variations of chanting and I'd love to see them used in the order temple)

I have to admit to listening to the IG music more for its cuing rather than it's actual aural appeal.

I love the music, especially the tunes like on the Sloped Road in the day. The right music can -really- set an enviornment. I'm only sad that it is limited to what NWN has, there's some fine tunes from other games (Lord of the Rings: The Battle of Middle Earth II comes to mine)

I keep the music on, but I also have iTunes music playing above that. Mostly to hear sound effects and the like.

I play with music on, just not what the corporations are trying to shove down my throat, man. The revolution will not be televised.

I replaced all the NWN default music with Conan music, and I selected tracks appropriate to each particular 'setting'

I play with the music off. I normally listen to my own tunes on some background app. I do leave sound effects and voices on, as they are very useful.

I don't dislike NWN's music (BG I/II's was way better though) but after, what has it been now, six years, it gets a bit old.

I play with music on.  The new 1.69 tracks are pretty sweet.

Most often, I play with music on, but every now and then I have some background tunes of my own on instead.

On...but I have replaced tracks I don't like with all kinds of stuff...from Conan, LotR, some oddballs, and even a few rockers from Morrowind!

On, and I listen to what comes with NWN. Default install FTW!

(Ignore the fact that I haven't actually played NWN in the past month.)

Before 1.69 I never really used the music, but I like the new stuff too.

After so many years of knowing it, it makes me want to throw up my own intestines every time I hear a single sample of it.

I usually play with ambient/drone in the background, playinf from my foobar [Ulf Soderberg, Arcana, Raison D'Etre, Shinjuku Thief, Alio Die, Lingua Fungi, Lustmord, Dead Can Dance, etc etc] but the in game voices/sound effects I do have on. Helps a lot.

Oh, also, I adore folk metal when I'm doing the Vrazdn Q as my dwarf. Korpiklaani, Fintroll FTW.

SAY NO TO JEREMY SOULE! Lynch him! *Tosses a rotten apple*

Never play the nwn music, though I occasionally activate the other sound effects to help react during fights and such, or to alert me when I'm tabbing.

I often play with the music, especially when DMing and I want to be in the mood for it. I find listening to non-soundtrack music tends to break my flow. That said, I also have a DM PLAYLIST of moody tracks that I listen to. I'm such a nerd. :(
