30-40 hour uptimes tend to directly harm the population of the server. Whenever possible it might be best to reset the server prior to some of the slower / lesser DM populated timezones in order to benefit a higher interaction rate and population level (North-American evenings and nights to be biased)
We tend to, but sometimes specific DM's request delays for what ever reason. Point of the matter, it gets reseted at what ever time, often at the wake of finished updates or fixes, if there is nothing to delay it.
Out of curiosity, is there any reason there isn't an automated reset at say 3am EST every day?
Automated resets are a bad idea in general, unless some overly complicated player-driven system to bypass it due to issues (currently dead, pack on the ground, questing, whatever else) were in place. With that, it would probably be in a state of constant delay / override anyway.
The point is that it has been up for what I'd call a severe length of time far too often, at least lately and considering other things for another discussion.
When it's called for a delay, no number of suggestion posts will make a difference. Generally we tend to have about 24h uptime.
