Title: EFUQS reset
Post by: VanillaPudding on March 26, 2009, 01:03:28 PM
Could this duration be bumped down to 18 hours or so for the quests to reset? It won't really change much but give a bit of slack for those of us with a shifting schedule.

Has 24 hours IG or real time ?
If 24 hours IG is a good slack of time.

Aww, com'on, we won't even have time to do a full quest train if resets are too close to each other.

24h's good enough for players, and DMs must have time to do what it is they do behind the curtains too.

Being able to repeat quests every 24 hours seems pretty generous, imo.

Some mistake...
NO server resets,
only quests resets 24 hours real time cycle.
24 hours IG ? nobody ?

It's called Johannes scripting ability.

I don't like it either.

If we didn't have so many resets as is. I would care. But we get a reset still about once a day. My biggest want would be a efusl market on the character on what quests theyve done. Cause I use my journal for all that. If no reset happens then I always forget what was done when. Still, in terms of this suggestion I don't see anything wrong with it. The quests here rock, and it's not like people are going to go on many 18hour trains so that they can immdiately do them again. On that note, I wouldn't lose any sleep over either option.

There will have to be a lot of fingers broken to get this down to 18 hours.  The reason this change went in is because in the past the server was unstable and would crash every so often.  It was rare for it to last 24 hours.  Now, however, unless we're updating it to a new version, it'll run for seemingly indefinite periods, and during the tails of these long periods nobody could quest.  This quest timer is here to alleviate that problem a little bit, but at the moment it's viewed by many as a necessary evil.

If there's going to be a change, it's doubtful that it will be as simple as allowing people to spam the same quests even more often.

We do have other quests outside of the Duergar, Vradzn and Broodhive spam-range. :-(

Don't buy into DM_Mort's lies. There ARE no other quests, and anyone who says otherwise is a filthy liar.

The way I see it the longer you wait the more PC interaction throughout the town can happen, if quests are always avaliable the town will become ghosttown
