Right. Thus ends the tale of Dame Abala Quickfeet! This was my first character, and I think that showed a lot, particularly towards the beginning, when she died repeatedly over and over again. Somehow she managed to rise to become an extremely prominent PC on the server, leading Sanctuary for well over eight months!

Abala... where do I even start? She started as a bright-eyed and idealistic paladin who wanted nothing more than to see realized the perfect society, a society where her role would be obsolete, a society where punishment was not needed and everyone lived in blissful, peaceful happiness.
Needless to say, Sanctuary had a very sobering effect on her almost from the beginning. She resolved to enter into leadership, to fix all of the problems that she saw - the rampant corruption, the abuse of the law, the idle hands being rested upon. Whether she was successful isn't really my place to say. She attached herself to Director Kingsley, and tried to advance her cause as a Prefect as best as she was able.
She eventually fell as a paladin (and for a time tried to see if there was some path by which she could find redemption but unfortunately one never opened up for her, each priest she confided in disappearing one after the other), but in spite of that, she struggled earnestly to be a good person and to maintain some semblance of her honor in spite of great adversity and extremely difficult and morally grey choices. I personally believe that she was mostly successful in that endeavor.
She was a Director, of course, but honestly, I didn't like that part of her very much and I think it detracted a lot from what the character originally was meant to be. I personally regret taking the character in that direction, but it did lead to some fun stuff regardless. She had, I like to think, real motivations and goals that drove her forwards. It certainly gave her the ability to really take the server by the reins and do some fun stuff, and I'm extremely grateful for that.
I unfortunately am not very good at taking and saving screenshots. Here are a few. I'm sure you guys can get the gist.

Lawful good as fuck.

She was very loyal to the Society and its ideals, particularly its founder, Director Rhiannon Kingsley, who she admired a great deal and, particularly during her time as Prefect, viewed as her liege-lord.

She didn't like drow very much, though she spent a lot of her time as a Director dealing with them. They wrote her mean letters.

She talked to angels quite a bit. This one was Hashmaelum the Uncompromising, a very cool justice archon who set Abala off on a quest to kill an devil-worshipping Spellguard Agent played by RwG (you can take a wild guess how that ended).
She was a holy beacon of light, at times...
... and a diplomat of Sanctuary, at others. She negotiated with drow, deep gnomes, dragons, kuo-toa, duergar, dwarves, crazy criminals, crazy SG Agents, and more! Quite the pedigree.
I wish I had more screenies, but I'm sure a ton have been posted featuring her in other people's threads so it's no big loss.
I think it's safe to say Abala Quickfeet was not the
best character that I could have played at the time I made her, given what I know now, but she was the
right character to play, and I hope she added a lot to people's stories over the last long and arduous year of her existence.
I'd like to thank just about everyone who has ever played on this server, all of the DMs, et cetera. There are just too many people to count. Thank you guys all so much.
Goodbye, EFU! See you on the next one.

well played i await your next pc
Good work.
A very pimpactful character. Great job.
Iconic!
Very nicely done, especially for a first EFU PC..
My first one was a dwarf priest with 8 Cha..
My favorite character. Best PC of EFUR by far. Absolutely can't wait for what comes next!

Abalaaaaaaa ;_;
Good stuff. I fear the incoming and obvious monster PC that will take out the frustrations of politics and paladin upon the world. ;)
A really damned cool PC, kudos on managing to play a paladin in politics and yet still managing to keep things fresh and fun. Hats off to you.
Very well done. I was amazed at how well you stuck to your character, and let it evolve naturally as she was exposed to the server and the hardships it offers.
You touched alot of PCs with this one.
Both as ally and obstacle.
Can't wait to see if you can come up with something even better.
Brilliant :)
The Once and Future Director of Sanctuary.
Yep! From Mari Stalwart, my first "Real" pc here,(with a big influence on Card, up 'till the end, ordering her death) all the way to Cain, you played some role in my characters stories and I thank you for that. You stuck with your character and, at least as i saw it, have done a amazing job in the face of others judgement and beliefs. Also, congrats on it being your first pc and doing so well. Definitely looking forward to your next character.
Awesome PC! Oh how dearly I wish I had been online to witness her end.
tits in the tower for sure
wow what... I had it figured Abala would last until the setting change at the very least. Very upsetting.
Now come play a myconid, puff puff :D
It is with greatest hunger and greatest regrets
That I sing to you now on Abala`s Tits.
So Tiny and Small, never to droop or to fall,
For they are miniscule, at best.
Now few men spy, with their own eye,
The curve of those tiny bug bites.
Not even in the baths, shallow or clear,
Can they be seen in the depths.
And those who have seen it, can scarcely believe it,
There are few things that can compare.
Like ants, or gnats, or teenie tiny sacks,
This short list is bigger than her little rack.
Now you remember before of my first little score,
On how I speak with greatest hunger and regret-
And that is because I am abuzz and appaled to find that I want to squeeze that tiny bitch's tit.
One can`t quite explain it, and can barely contain it,
It`s enough to make on pitch a fit.
We have the good looks, we have the fine grit,
To make any woman to swoon and to drip.
But that doesn`t matter to the little whore Abala,
The tiny-breasted frump.
She wants only one thing twixt her nethers,
And that is Tyr`s bloody stump!

"Abala's Tits"
I'm impressed at how expertly you edited out Abala's Blackguard levels.
A seriously well done PC. Despite all the times you said you didn't think you made Abala to "play EFU right" I think you did an amazing job. You don't need to "play EFU right" to get the most out of it. Go against the grain and you can often accomplish a lot.
A simply stellar PC, well deserved kudos and an example to follow for Paladins to come.
Well done. Amazing this was your first EfU PC. We'll always remember our unique conflict with fond memories. Best of luck with your next concept!
Alas! for whom shall Chimaera now hate with such a fiery passion now Abala is gone. Well done! Amazing first character!
I remember fondly, all of our interactions together. I remember when I first met abala IG I thought, Oh man, I gotta get this chick in on some plots. She needs help!
And then she just hit the ground running and sort of got my entire faction killed.
Ever since every PC I've made has been a blatant attempt at impressing abala.
Well done.
Abala was one of the PCs that my PC met that helped defin so much about him. I greatly enjoyed our interactions over this past year. A great PC that will be remembered for a long time.
An adventure of hell, high water and high places.
From the humble beginning to the bitter end, it was quite a time. ;_;7

Wow. Never thought this day would come, to be honest. I was fully expecting Abala to eventually ascend to the vaunted halls of NPChood. God knows you would have earned it.
She was my favorite character of this setting, without a doubt. One of the major things I miss about Blake was his close and constant interactions with her, half as confidant, and the other half as a fellow Red political operative. Really good times, and I got a first row seat to her moral struggles as a fallen Paladin and then as a Director.
She'll be missed, sincerely.
I have a few screenshots of my own!

I eagerly await your next PC.
I really enjoyed your player character Maimed God.
Hard to find a place to begin here. Abala was without a doubt the most influential character to my PC to date, starting from day one when I decided on a whim Melanie would be exceptionally jealous of the Prefect and see where it took me. After Abala fell and looked absolutely miserable, it began with guilt ridden service as a clerk in the Red Guild and took her all the way to becoming Melanie's hero and best friend.
I'll post a few screenies that show a side of Abala most would've never seen. Some of the best conversations I've ever had on EFU that shows just how much presence she had, it quite honestly turned my PC away from a pretty dark path at the time.

Stellar PC and one of the best politicians I've seen on EFU. Great job using the directorate to push a strong agenda, and using political power to support up and coming PCs (rather than perpetually standing in the limelight).
Without exaggeration one of the top 10 most successful characters in EFU history. Though I wasn't around for EFU 1, I can barely imagine anyone doing as much as you did.
Finally. lol. ^_^
Abala was good fun to interact with. ^_^ Rock on.
Abala was the queen of the Fort Iron Dread in my heart.

What an awesome char. Seriously good. Sad we never interacted. Abala was amazing! I am very seriously upset we never met... I hope your next is just as great!
abala more like a fun, really interesting character I'm going to missbala
I'll be dull and say she was an awesome PC. Even though our PCs rarely met, I had huge fun hearing stories and accounts on her IG. And every interaction I had with her (as few as we had) are well remembered.
She was a moving force inside of Sanctuary and of the server in general and will be missed.
A fantastic PC who had an influence upon most, if not all, of the characters I have played on EFU thus far. Actually, the day I started playing Farvyn was the day the election results were announced and she became a Director. An excellent character who left a very strong impression.
RIP The Butcher of Men. A well played and consistently good pc.
From a time when I can remember Algarn calling her stupid because she refused to take healing items for herself, through to being a good friend and ally that he would defend to the death.
Definitely a PC that will leave a halfling sized hole in the PW now that she is gone.
rip you blonde midget
Ah, yes... I had forgotten about "the Butcher"... special thanks to DM Halfbrood for that wonderful title...
I'm gonna be on every page of this thing!
RIP ABALA
ALL THE <3 4 EVA
An excellent character I saw from a variety of times. Each time Alba always seemed consistent and for lake of a better term "real".
I know I've ranted to you plenty of times on IRC about how much I loved Abala, but it warrants another saying here. She was such a phenomenally well played character and consistently represented an aspect of the server that's always been impressively hard to pull off; lawful good can sometimes be a frustration, especially in a decidedly lawful evil society, and you did it brilliantly. Not only did you deal with falling from paladinhood as a new player, but the way you and Abala strived above the difficulties was an incredible example.
I only had the chance to watch you from afar on Chaathi, and I said to myself that I'd make an effort to get involved with Abala shenanigans whenever I made my first Sanctuary PC. I was happily surprised that Ksenia, a PC build as a throwaway character that was never intended to do much in Sanctuary, was so greatly influenced by Abala and her story. Towards the end of Ksenia when I was dealing with motivational issues, I was pleasantly surprised that I could log on and find stellar roleplay with Abala no matter the circumstances.
You really brought EFU:R to life. Needless to say, if you're ever driving a bandwagon, I'd gladly take a ride.
Great PC. Genuinely looking forward to the next.
Best first PC ever! You were Aracknar's greatest enemy
NO! Not Lord Windbag McStuffy-Britches!!! :'( <3
Every villain needs an awesome hero, even more when this hero becomes a bit anti-hero. I loved to plot and scheme against Abala... so much that I hardly would manage to think of a way of becoming her ally. She had such impressive and strong personality, she was so sure of herself and so intense...
Damn... awesome, Maimed God... just awesome.
And, as usual, #myplans, #undeadabalaforblackguard2015
